Me gustaría hacer llegar a D. Manuel Lozano Leyva, autor del libro: De Arquímedes a Einstein, el comentario de abajo, pero como desconozco su dirección, se lo dejo a ustedes por si se lo pueden hacer llegar. ¡Gracias!
En líneas generales me gustó el libro De Arquímedes a Einstein por lo que aporta a la divulgación científica en este país, teniendo en su favor un lenguaje sencillo con ejemplos aclaratorios bastante ilustrativos.
Sin embargo, el motivo de mi escrito es para denunciar dos graves errores, que como físico que es el Sr. Lozano, no daba crédito a mis ojos cuando leía los mismos.
El primero de ellos se encuentra en el segundo párrafo de la página 112: Si la Luna no choca contra la Tierra, como lo hace una manzana, no se debe al principio de acción y reacción, ni a ninguna fuerza centrípeta ni centrífuga (que no existe). La única razón por la que no llega a aterrizar es porque se está moviendo. Comuníquele usted una velocidad suficiente a la manzana y girará cual satélite, alrededor de la Tierra.
El otro error, también conceptual y relacionado con el anterior se encuentra en la página 168: Dice el autor que cuando un coche toma una curva, aparecerá una aceleración hacia fuera llamada fuerza centrípeta (¿por qué no centrífuga?). Permítame que lo corrija Sr. Lozano. Lo que cabría esperar que hiciera un coche cuando llega a una curva es que se saliera de la carretera, por la sencilla razón de que la inercia hace que tienda a seguir en línea recta y con movimiento rectilíneo. Para que un cuerpo gire hace falta una fuerza dirigida hacia el centro de giro y que por eso llamamos centrípeta. En el caso del coche la fuerza que posibilita el giro es la de rozamiento. En el caso de la Luna, como usted sabe, es la gravitatoria.
Hay otras cuestiones de las que discrepo con el autor, pero son eso, discrepancias, no errores.

Al profesor de la isleta:
Aprende Física tio que no te enteras lo siento por tus alumnos. Los dos errores que citas no son tales errores sino problemas tuyos a la hora de leer un buen libro. El coche 'toma' la curva luego aparecen esas dos fuerzas que si se equilibran todo va bien, lo que tu dices no es incierto, pero es que no viene a cuento. La luna no cae por su velocidad de giro, esto es obvio a partir de las ecuaciones de Newton, que pena me das.

Quisiera decir que he sido alumno de Don José Antonio Chomón Vallejo cuando él daba clases en otro instituto diferente al "IES La Isleta". Debido a ello puedo decir que se trata de un excelente físico, y mejor, aún si cabe, profesor. Ha sido el único a lo largo de toda mi vida como estudiante que ha logrado exponer las ideas más complejas de la física de forma muy clara e interesante. De hecho, gracias a sus enseñanzas, logré entender sin demasiada complicación la física de mi primer año de carrera. Por ello es que le debo mucho y me hace estar totalmente conforme con su opinión respecto al libro. Muchas gracias.

Hola fui alumno del profesor D. Chomón y, la verdad, era excelente en sus explicaciones en los distintos campos de la física, gracias a él aprobé la asignatura "Física y Química" sin superar en ningún momento del curso un examen con más de un tres. Además, le estaré eternamente agradecido por haberme dejado copiar descaradamente con el libro en la mesa en plenos exámenes y encima aprobarme con notas inferiores a tres puntos, porque yo me copiaba, desde luego, pero lo hacía como el culo pues no me enteraba ni de lo copiaba, pero bueno algo entiendo gracias D. Chomón de la Física, sobre todo del efecto gravitatorio que ejerce la tierra sobre los objetos cercanos a la misma. Yo mismo, lo pude apreciar cuando me caían sus escupitajos en pleno rostro por dicho efecto gravitario, porque explicar, explicaba, pero se extendía en exceso en sus explicaciones, al menos cuando me caían sus esputos debido a su gran entusiasmo. S2 y viva el Señor D. Chomón, al que le debo mi título de graduado en E.S., y nada más, porque en el bachillerato no hay programas de diversificación curricular para gente como yo. S2.
